I live in a small town in Washington State, USA, with my wife, two sons, two dogs, a cat, and family nearby. I work at the local community college as an I.T. Specialist. In March of '02, we bought a 70-some year old house that needed a lot of work. When I'm not working on the house, I like to throw pots, be outside, and read a lot.

My coffee fed succulents

  • hahahah...my ex had several plants in her office that only got the leftover coffee or diet pepsi she dumped in them at the end of teh day as she left...they were HUGE!

  • Thanks for the clarifying pic, Scott. You have proved me wrong. You CAN "coffee" succulents! (And apparently, you can "soda" them, as well - thanks, Merideth!) I'll remember that next time I'm about to pour days-old liquids down the drain...

  • I made that pinch pot in 2000, grabbed a handful of dirt and the plants out of an abandoned planter outside the building and the plants have haven't grown or died off appreciably since then - maybe the coffee is stunting their growth?
